September 29 - According to “Financial Times”, with the reference to “Il Sole 24 Oro”, the shares of “Delonghi” - Italian producer of household equipment - grew up by 2,3% and constituted 5,4 million Euro on June 20. Analysts estimate that growth of the shares is conditioned by sudden growth of sales of the air-conditioning equipment, which is 21% of the general turnover of the group last year (256,5 million Euro).

September 25 - The Kioto protocol on climatic changes has undergone a heavy blow when Australia, which signed the document only 7 months ago, has joined opposition in the person of the USA. Australian Prime Minister while speaking in the Parliament said: “The protocol is not in our interests; it will cost us working places and will harm our industry”. It happened the next day after the Japanese Cabinet of Ministers agreed to ratify the agreement and 5 days after its ratification by the countries of the European Union. Australian refusal has been lobbied by the coal-mining branch of the country and the USA.

September 22 - The Japanese government has accepted the Kioto protocol about the measures of global warming control. It was ratified by both Parliament houses of the country at the end of May. Thus, the country has become the 55th country, which ratified the protocol, and it gives it the possibility to become effective in 90 days.

September 19 - In Japan there is being considered the plan of cooling of Tokyo megapolis during summer time. At the moment there is almost no green in the city, and countless air-conditioners cooling air in buildings make the street heat almost unbearable. The new project presupposes laying of the huge network of pipelines under Tokyo along which sea water will be constantly pumped. Assessed value of such refrigerator for the megapolis is more than one third of billion dollars. “Daily Telegraph” newspaper assumes that the project will not be implemented: it just reflects passion of the Japanese for grand engineering decisions.

September 16 - Is the International Day of Ozone Layer Protection. In 1994 General Assembly of UNO declared September 16 as the International Day of Ozone Layer Protection. This day in 1987 the Montreal Protocol on Substances Disrupting Ozone Layer was signed.

September 12 - According to “Associated Press Information Services” agency, USA president George Bush has separated 100 million dollars in order to help poor layers of population to pay bills for electric energy in 33 states and Columbia district. This decision has been caused by hotter that usually weather during the recent three months and as a consequence, more intensive using of air-conditioners.

September 8 - According to “REUTERS”, with the reference to “Nihon Keizai Shimbun”, “Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd” and “Mitsubishi Electric Corp.” companies will unite their efforts in October of 2002 to develop and produce the air-conditioning equipment.

September 4 - Tonon, a leading Italian company in heating systems, is now incorporating a new air conditioning division in its organization to produce AC units suitable for small and medium residential and industrial systems.
All units have hermetic scroll compressors using R22 or, on request, R407C. Assembled on a self-supporting structure of galvanized and painted sheet metal, they are fully wired and ready for connection to the user system.
An electronic unit controls the chiller by means of a micro-processor coupled with external or on-board safety devices.
